This is the 3 1/2" face crown molding. It sets out 2 1/2" and up 2 1/8" from the inside corner of the rabbet. The rabbet is for mounting on a cabinet or on a transition block. For face mount we remove the back tab to allow fitting flush to a surface. These moldings with their deep cut ogee and smooth lines were designed to complement the round shape and soft lines of the rope, dentil and spindles.
